Coming out of the 2008 election, there is growing momentum to reform our antiquated system of registering voters.  From proposals in Congress to place the government in a more proactive stance populating and updating voter registration rolls to campaigns to enact Election Day Registration in the states to efforts to ensure the effective implementation of the National Voter Registration Act’s provisions requiring registration at public assistance agencies, there is an opportunity to transform our voter registration system.  What are the plans underway in the field?  Where are advances likely?  What does it mean for the voter registration drives that FCCP members have supported?
