FCCP Integrated Voter Engagement Case Studies Released
FCCP Integrated Voter Engagement Case Studies Released
At the Denver Spring Convening, FCCP released our Integrated Voter Engagement Case Studies. In these short, easy-to-read profiles of four organizations -- the Colorado Progressive Coalition, Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, SCOPE/AGENDA and Ohio ACORN -- FCCP offers civic engagement funders and practitioners powerful examples of integrated voter engagement in actions and how it has enabled organizations to draw people out during elections and sustain their participation throughout the year. Written by Lee Winkelman and Jeff Malachowsky, each case study focuses on work accomplished during the 2006 election cycle with a postscript that captures highlights of their achievements in 2008. These stories elevate the coordinated approach that we call "Integrated Voter Engagement” and share our recommendations for promoting some of the most effective techniques now employed in the nonprofit sector.
There are many ways in which these case studies can be distributed and used by funders and practitioners in the field and we would like to suggest a few ways in which FCCP members can help share this work:
* Forward this page to all your civic engagement granteess so they can download their own copy of the studies. Or, print them and distribute to your grantees, and colleagues.
* Add a mention of these studies in your next newsletter or publication with a link to the PDF of the studies.
* Co-Sponsor with FCCP or suggest a funder's briefing where these case studies can be used to promote other local organizations who practice integrated voter engagement.
