DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRAM MANAGER
Maine Initiatives seeks an experienced professional to provide support for our fundraising and to oversee our program work, managing grantmaking and special events.
Our mission
Maine Initiatives, a fund for change, cultivates social, economic, and environmental justice through grants and other support to organizations working at the grassroots level in Maine communities.
About the job
Maine Initiatives, a sixteen-year-old grant-making foundation, funds organizing for social change. Our grantees run the full range of the progressive spectrum, from workers’ centers to environmental campaigns, from homeless people organizing for shelter to students getting out the vote. We now have a full-time staff of two and aim to expand it by adding a third staff person, who will provide support for our resource development campaign and carry out our program activities.
This is an opportunity to join a small team making a big difference and to become part of the nation’s growing progressive philanthropy movement. You’ll work with the executive director, office manager, board members, and volunteers to carry out Maine Initiatives’ day-to-day operations and advance our change-not-charity mission.
Requirements
• Experience in fundraising, organizing events, administrative duties, and program management.
• Database and Internet competence.
• Demonstrated commitment to the social justice movement.
• Ability to work well with volunteers and co-workers.
