August 3, Building Our Collective Strength: Exploring Possibilities For Strategic Partnering

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM , Washington, DC

GCYF and Grantmakers Income Security Taskforce (GIST) are pleased to invite you to a one-day intensive strategy session to explore collaborative funding and strategic partnerships. Building Our Collective Strength - Exploring Possibilities for Strategic Partnering is an outgrowth of the funder’s strategy session held at the conclusion of the 6th Annual Tax and Budget Briefing for Grantmakers.

This meeting will provide a venue for grantmakers to continue to build relationships and leverage their efforts, while exploring opportunities for collaboration on projects (e.g., poverty, immigration reform, SFAI work), policies (e.g., tax debates related to ARRA and/or expiring tax credits), and/or identified funding priorities. The meeting will purposely focus on strategy.

Agenda

The day will focus on facilitated conversations moving towards developing action steps on collaborative funding opportunities to impact areas of need. The moderated discussion will include a summary of key findings from data collection, funder updates and a tactical discussion. Further details on the agenda will be provided to participants later this summer.
Who Should Attend?

This strategy session is designed for grantmakers who currently fund in the policy and advocacy arena, or related areas such as issue-based public education campaigns or public/private partnerships; are able to share organizational strategies; and are ready to explore collaborative funding.

Participants will be asked to participate in a confidential pre-event survey, which will provide data to ensure the best possible discussion and outcomes for the meeting. Due to limited space, we ask that no more than 3 grantmakers per foundation register for this meeting.

GCYF and GIST are pleased to announce that a limited number of scholarships are available to support travel to this meeting. These travel support scholarships are designed to assist a GCYF member or GIST participant who would not otherwise be able to attend this meeting.
