UPDATED SCHEDULE & AGENDA: FCCP 2010 Winter Convening, Dec. 6-8 In Washington, DC
Is There a New Normal?
Democracy | Culture | Technology | Economy
December 6th-8th at The Pew Charitable Trusts in Washington, DC
Is this a dynamic moment in time or is America settling into a “new normal” that could reshape our views of civic engagement? Is social media as powerful an organizing tool as we thought all along? Will the new campaign finance ruling permanently define the political status quo? How can grassroots organizers harness concern over the economic slowdown to define civic values and re-energize the electorate?
Please join grantmakers from across the country for FCCP’s most innovative and engaging winter gathering yet as we examine an array of interconnected issues that are transforming the national civic engagement landscape. Together we will analyze the outcome of the 2010 elections, explore new organizing strategies and cutting-edge civic engagement technologies, and identify the opportunities we have for strengthening nonpartisan civic participation in the critical years to come.
Opening keynote address by Justice Sandra Day O’Connor
